Choosing a Preform Mould For Bottles

A preform mould for bottles is a type of tool used in the manufacture of bottles. A preform mould is a mould that has multiple cavities. The number of cavities can vary from 48 to 144. With a preform mould, bottles are more efficiently produced. These moulds can also be customized according to the requirements of the client.
There are two types of preform moulds: single stage and two stage. A single stage moulding process makes use of a single stage machine that creates a preform, which is then blown into the bottle. The other process uses a two-stage machine that requires preforms to be heated and conditioned.
When choosing a preform mould for a bottle, you must take into account the type of material you want to use and your bottle's shape. PET preforms differ from each other in their neck finish, weight, and colour. These factors affect the overall design of the PET bottle. It is therefore important to include the wall thickness and all dimensions of the bottle when designing your preform mould.
You should choose a preform mould for bottles that has the correct insulation. For PET bottles, the insulation plates should be at least 12 mm thick and have the ability to withstand high pressure. The preform mould must also allow sufficient air venting so as to avoid local overheating. Another thing to consider is the slot depth. The slot depth should be no more than 0.03 mm. Otherwise, flash may occur.
